Erin Roughton brings 32 years of expertise in energy engineering and management to Whirika.
As a qualified professional engineer and accredited energy auditor, Erin has worked with businesses, councils, and government on energy efficiency, renewable energy feasibility, and decarbonisation throughout New Zealand and internationally. His specialties are industrial energy systems optimisation, building facilities management, process heat, pumps, and compressed air. Erin has worked with a wide range of industrial sites and institutions, including hospitals and wood and food processing sites.
Formerly the Managing Director at Emsol, Erin has consistently delivered substantial energy and cost savings for New Zealand’s commercial sectors. Erin’s deep industry knowledge is an integral part of Whirika’s mission to drive impactful and innovative energy solutions across New Zealand.
Erin is a qualified Energy Masters professional with Carbon and Energy Professionals New Zealand (CEP), which includes Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP). He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Natural Resources from Lincoln University and is based in Nelson.
